THE PERDANA GLOBAL PEACE FOUNDATION (PGPF)’S CONTINUED EFFORT TO CALL FOR THE LIFTING OF THE BLOCKADE OF GAZA AND THIS TIME VIA ITS WAQAF WATER4GAZA PROJECT INITIATED WITH THE SUPPORT FROM MALAYSIANS.
Thursday,23.8.2012
The Perdana Global Peace Foundation (PGPF) has called for the lifting of the blockade of Gaza. For over five years in Gaza, more than 1.5 million people have been under siege in violation of international laws. More than half of the victims are children.
Twice, PGPF has challenged the blockade by launching two ships separately and attempted to sail to Gaza and break Israel’s stranglehold on 1.5 million Palestinian civilians. The first, the Rachel Corrie, under the threat of military attack, was forcefully stopped by the Israel Defence Force (IDF) and commandeered to the Israel port of Ashdod and our volunteers deported. Picking up from where the first ship left, PGPF launched the Spirit of Rachel Corrie and suffered similar fate. It was however allowed to berth at the Port El-Arish on 5 July 2011 to unload 7.5 km UPVC pipes to Gaza to restore their devastated sewerage systems.
Background Information on clean drinking water supply in Gaza :
According to report by UNHCR, about 90% of the groundwater in Gaza is unacceptable for drinking as a result of contamination by nitrate and chloride. While ground water is the only dependable and regular source of water in the Gaza Strip. It is a source for drinking, domestic, agricultural and industrial supplies. Families have virtually no access to drinking water: humanitarian access has been severely restricted, water infrastructure has been destroyed and systems are in need of repairs, and stagnant, standing water fills the streets. According to the Coastal Municipalities Water Utility (CMWU) – the water and wastewater service provider for the Gaza Strip – some 500,000 people are without access to running water at all, another 500,000 residents are limited to 4-6 hours of running water every 5-7 days, and the remaining population receives 4-6 hours of water every 2-3 days.
In view of the above, in October 2010, PGPF has launched an effort via its Waqaf Water4Gaza project in which a programme was featured in a tour around states in Malaysia with cooperation from the public, state government and private companies as well as donors. Waqaf Water4Gaza intends to deliver bottles of water to the Gaza strip where its citizens have been suffering due to lack of clean water.
And today, 16th August 2012, the Waqaf Water4Gaza project has finally rolled out its 1st phase programme to its destination in Gaza. PGPF has created another milestone in its initiatives with the distribution of 500,000 units of 1.5 litre bottled water via 30 trucks to over 70 outlets which include Mosques, 10 major hospitals, orphanages, rehabilitation centres as well as Christian churches around Gaza. It was in PGPF’s initial plan to send a team from Malaysia for this mission; we however were advised not to proceed with our plans due to the recent attack at Rafah border. The uncertainties at the Rafah border and the possibilities of not being allowed in due to the closing of the crossings had scuttled our original plans of going there to distribute the water ourselves.
However, our associates in Gaza, Derek and Jenny Graham have agreed to undertake the responsibilities and will, on our behalf, assist the distribution. Derek and Jenny, both Irish nationals, have been active partners of the PGPF and played significant roles in our earlier
“Break The Seige” missions. The Graham ‘s have played vital roles as members on “Break The Siege” missions. Derek and Jenny who are currently based in Gaza, will be collaborating with local Palestinians officials.
PGPF also, in conjunction with the blessed month of Ramadhan, has also sponsored a Charitable Yarmook Institution (CYI) project called ‘Mercy & Kind Hands’ for food parcels, Iftar, Eid Clothes and cash to the people in Gaza.
On the same day, PGPF in Kuala Lumpur, will organise a hand-over ceremony of the Waqaf Water4Gaza to a visiting Imam of Gaza, via a simple ceremony attended by PGPF President, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, PGPF Board of Trustees as well as other Peace Association around Malaysia.
The Perdana Global Peace Foundation (PGPF) will continue its awareness programmes via Jelajah Keamanan and Waqaf Water4Gaza to garner support from Malaysians in order to achieve its target in providing clean water to the people in Gaza and to highlight their sufferings due to the Zionist blockade which is choking the life out of the Palestinians.
“We, in PGPF, wish to convey our deepest appreciation to the Government of Malaysia and its people for their continuous support and effort in helping us realise our mission. We salute the people of Gaza for the state of fastness in resisting the Israeli onslaught.” Tan Sri Norian Mai, Chairman of PGPF.

Momen Aldam's body and his friends around.
Momen Aldam, A fourteen years old boy, lived in 'Shajaeya' neighborhood. Momen was the only son for his parents, was a good student in his school and he got good marks in the last exams, a friend of him said.
The Summer vocation began and the picnics start, Momen, his blind father and his mother decided to go in a picnic to their small farmland. They prepared the food for the picnic, and for sure Momen picked his ball with him, 'he was going out in a picnic with the family!'
The family arrived to their farmland , Momen lit a fire there and made tea to drink with the food that they brought. After that he started playing with his ball seven meters far from the simple tent that they made there to set under. All of that should be such a nice time for the family.
Suddenly at 2:30 on Wednesday afternoon, June 20th, 2012, an explosion heard in the area of Aldam's family farmland, a neighbor said. He went out running to check what was that as most of the neighbors did, "when I reached the land I couldn't do or say anything for the first five minutes after I saw what I saw, a young mother screaming on her son's body front of the blind husband who got injured also in the back of his head" the neighbor said, " Momen was targeted directly from an Israeli drone, his body was cut in pieces and burnt, and his mother put him on a Matrix, Ten minutes later the ambulances arrived, and took the boy's body and the injured father who did not believe that his son got killed" He added.
Another neighbor said "Other three women where setting in the farm next to aldam's farm and three of them got injured one is seriously injured ".
"a little boy was playing with his ball, is that supposed to make those drones afraid?!, or they thought that his red ball is a new weapon in Gaza?!" He wondered
The blood was everywhere , pieces of Momen's clothes were everywhere, part of his shoes was more than five meters far from where he was bombed and the other part was on an olive tree in another land next to them , his cell phone was destroyed and full of blood, papers of Momen's notebook thrown everywhere in the farm and the food that they brought wasn't finished yet . I could understand that the Israelis did not like the happiness that the family were in .
It should be noted that since Sunday 17th of June 2012, Israeli airstrikes killed 9 people and injured more than 17 person, meanwhile, Palestinian resistance group lunched bunch of rockets towards Israeli settlements near Gaza's border injuring few people slight injuries and causing them shocks!
I saw a very sad story when I saw the place where Momen got killed, No words can describe that image, it's really a heinous crime against humanity, but nothing Surprised me from the Israelis, because all what they do is against humanity and human rights, This crime added Momen to the Palestinian long martyrs list, added a new hero to the history of Palestine. Also it proved the hideousness of the Israeli crimes against Palestinian civilians, But all of these crimes will never ever break us down, it will make us stronger and stronger . Free Palestine
